Sharmistha Chakraborty, a resident of Kaikhali under the airport, filed a complaint at the airport police station on 14.02.24, alleging the theft of various items, including gold jewelry, from her locker. Under the guidance of ASI Balram Mandal, aided by diligent detective work, a swift investigation ensued, resulting in the successful recovery of the stolen gold jewelry. The accused, identified as Sumitra Das, was apprehended from Nandigram in East Medinipur and subsequently presented in court.
The collaboration between ASI Balram Mandal and his team, along with assistance from the detective department, facilitated the efficient retrieval of the stolen gold jewelry. Following the arrest of Sumitra Das in Nandigram, the accused was formally charged and brought before the court for further legal proceedings. The proactive measures taken by the airport police highlight their commitment to swiftly address and resolve cases of theft and ensure justice for the affected individuals.
